Trump Rejects Iran’s Phased Peace Plan; Carney Launches $25B Canada Strong Fund
U.S. President Donald Trump signalled deep dissatisfaction with Iran’s latest proposal to defer nuclear talks, as WTI crude climbed above $96 and only seven tankers crossed the Strait of Hormuz in 24 hours. In Ottawa, Prime Minister Carney announced Canada’s first sovereign wealth fund with a $25-billion federal endowment, one day before the spring economic update. Cole Allen was formally charged with attempted assassination following Saturday’s shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
