CSIS Warns Alberta Referendum Rife for Russian Disinformation; Vijay Set to Be Sworn In as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister
CSIS director Dan Rogers warned Russia could exploit Alberta’s potential independence referendum to amplify disinformation, as Premier Smith targets an October 19 vote. In Tamil Nadu, actor-turned-politician Vijay is set to be sworn in as Chief Minister after VCK agreed to extend support, pushing TVK past the 118-seat threshold. Meanwhile, Russia held a downsized Victory Day parade — no tanks, no missiles — as Trump announced a three-day ceasefire in the Ukraine war.
