Gordie Howe Bridge Opens Sunday; Pakistan Strikes Kill 11 Children in Afghanistan; Modi Becomes Longest Continuously Elected PM
After eight years and a Trump standoff, the Gordie Howe International Bridge opens this week — a C$6.4-billion crossing that ends one of Canada’s longest infrastructure sagas. In South Asia, Pakistan airstrikes killed 11 children in Afghanistan’s border provinces. And in New Delhi, PM Modi marked 4,399 consecutive days in office, surpassing Jawaharlal Nehru’s elected record.
